From Blah to Belonging

 Next small group mentoring session begins in April

​If you are a busy & socially engaged professional who cares deeply about the state of our world, chances are you feel exhausted and overwhelmed a lot of the time.
 

That's because to live and be successful in this dominant culture, we are taught to move at a very fast pace, to constantly take care of others, and to always strive to do our best. We feel like we have to always keep going so that we don't drown.

But this often leaves us feeling disconnected from ourselves,  from our true interconnected nature and sense of purpose.

The disconnection and drain of our dominant culture shows up as Blah--which might mean we often feel anxious, exhausted, lonely, or burned out--like we can never stop to rest or do enough or get ahead, like we're wilting. We get stuck in patterns that don't feel good but are rewarded within our dominant culture. We get stuck in Blah by avoiding and numbing out.

We might think this is just how it is, or that there's nothing we can really do.  But, I believe we can move beyond getting stuck in the Blah of our dominant culture.

We can learn to sidestep the drain and despair of our dominant culture by rooting into Belonging.  Be-longing is our longing to truly be who we are, to feel spiritually connected, to know ourselves as having a place and a purpose in this world.

When we reconnect to belonging, we feel more calm, confident, purposeful, and in-alignment. We trust ourselves and our life-path. We learn how to step away from being constantly drained and into a life that is more connected and enlivened. We have space to regularly build sacred connection and meaningful relationships.

I can help you move out of the drain, disconnect, and despair of dominant culture (Blah!) and toward Belonging.  I’ll support you in cultivating new heart-ways, somatic and earth-based practices, and spiritual connection so that you'll feel more whole, and so that you can approach your life and work with alignment and groundedness.

Together we'll travel from Blah to Belonging. In this guided process I will show you how to:

  • Listen and reconnect to the wisdom of your body and heart so that you can trust your inner guidance

  • Learn to trust your connection to earth and Life so that you feel more supported

  • Deeply notice patterns of dominant culture so that you'll feel less stuck or stagnant

  • Reconnect to your core values, needs, and longings so you can really honor who you are

  • Practice envisioning new possibilities that feel easeful and abundant (we can't live it if we can't imagine it)

  • Learn how to take new steps beyond the drain and despair of dominant culture so that your life feels more joyful and purposeful

  • Gain a greater sense of alignment so that you feel clarity and confidence in your next steps

6 mentoring sessions with a small group (3 like-hearted people)

Bring your specific Blah to focus on
You may feel stuck in the patterns of the dominant culture-- consistently overwhelmed, anxious, burned out or tired; you may want to root into Self-trust and develop more confidence; you may want a deeper spiritual practice and more spaciousness in your life; you may be tired of feeling disconnected.

Choose the in-person or virtual mentoring option.
In-person mentoring will take place in my home garden in SE Portland (Montavilla). Sessions are 90 minutes will take place between April 28- June 20, Likely Monday or Tuesday evenings--depending on group availability.

Be guided through an ecological design process that will include personal & group reflection, earth-based practices, and spiritual connection to move you into Belonging.
I will offer session notes and specific invitations to deepen your process through reflection and practice outside of our sessions.

Session 1: Deeply observe your values, longings, & needs. Set intentions and notice where you often get stuck in patterns of dominant culture.

Session 2: Learn specific earth and body based practices that support listening to your own wisdom and developing Self-trust.

Session 3: Envision new ways of being that feel more easeful and in alignment with your needs and values. Tap into earth wisdom and ecological metaphors to imagine new possibilities.

Session 4: Notice what themes emerge from your observations and envisioning. Begin to shape your next steps toward Belonging that feel joyful and purposeful.

Session 5: Explore the patterns and practices that will support your specific journey away from the Blah of our dominant culture and toward a life of more Belonging.

Session 6: Commit to next steps that feel aligned. Create a personal statement and mini-toolkit that offer reminders, guidance, and confidence for your next steps.

 

Small group mentoring spring package: 3 payments of $259 or full payment of $775

6 sessions between the weeks of April 28- June 20, Likely Monday or Tuesday evenings--depending on group availability.

  • Six beautifully designed 90 minute small group guided sessions

  • Notes after each session to reflect on

  • Invitations for practices to explore between sessions

  • A supportive small group of like-hearted seekers

  • A personal statement of purpose and mini-toolkit to guide your next steps

  • A gorgeous and private garden learning space and tea (for in-person option)

A mini session to access Belonging

Full-Moon-Over-Forest
Sometimes you just need a way to quickly reconnect to your sense of calm and purpose and get some gentle support. 
​
This short session is a quick and effective way to re-set your nervous system, shake off the Blah, and to reconnect to your sense of Belonging in a tangible way.
​
In this virtual session I will: 
  • Check-in with you about how you are and what you need
  • Offer a gentle, calming, and personalized nature-based visualization
  • Provide a mini tarot reading focused on a life-question of your choice (I've been reading tarot for 2 decades and find it to be an effective and intuitive way to get useful guidance)
  • Offer you a poem in closing

Spring special: 60 minutes for $75. You'll leave feeling calmer, more grounded, and more aligned.

My approach to Mentoring
My approach to mentoring is relational, welcoming, gentle, curious, and compassionate. I lean into my intuition to understand you energetically and holistically. I listen closely and ask good questions. I hold space for your emotions and create a container for you to observe, imagine, explore, and learn new skills.

I will teach you skills for developing a deeper understanding of your own wisdom, and for anchoring into earth wisdom. 
 
I use an Emergent Ecological Design framework that can lead you naturally into practices and patterns of healing and renewal.

When you engage in a mentoring package with me with me you will:

  • Learn a process for observing your values, desires, and needs as the foundation for moving toward belonging
  • Learn a process for getting clear about what you really want and how your life can feel more meaningful and aligned
  • Learn a process for harnessing imagination and vision to move toward belonging
  • Create a vision for your life and work that feels right for who you are now,  the way you want to live, and the needs and dreams that you have
  • Learn skills and practices for deepening your confidence so that you can take new steps towards a life of belonging
  • Learn skills for anchoring into earth's wisdom and willing partnership as a tool for belonging
  • Learn how to create daily and seasonal patterns of alignment and belonging to support a life that brings you meaning and joy
  • Learn how to do less and take aligned action
  • Create a clear plan for moving in a new direction
