"Resting is about beginning the process of undoing trauma so that we can thrive and evolve back to our natural state; a state of ease and rest."
Tricia Hersey
If you are a heart-centered leader who supports others, you know how exhausting it can be over time. If you are noticing symptoms of emotional or physical exhaustion, feelings of disconnection from your work or the people you support, being easily overwhelmed, and just feeling less resilient to the daily demands of your life, odds are, you need more rest than what you’re currently able to access.

Many of us feel like we don’t even know how to rest, like it’s something that other people just intuitively get, but somehow feels inaccessible to us. We default to scrolling on our phones or watching hours of Netflix, but when we step back into our lives we often feel more exhausted than before. It can often feel like we are either operating at full speed or ground to a halt because we’re so tired.

At this retreat you can join a small group to intentionally slow down and rest as a form of healing and active resistance to dominant systems that keep us feeling trapped and exhausted. When we take the time to honor and tend to our own needs, we can show up more whole-heartedly for those we serve and support. And we can show up in all areas of our lives with more wholeness, more joy, and more balance–able to meet the demands of our lives with more groundedness and ease.

At this retreat we will explore together:
-
What is rest and how do we get it?
-
Are we worthy of rest?
-
How do the dominant, internalized norms of grind culture impact our ability to rest?
-
How does authentic connection, reflection, and vulnerable conversation support rest?
-
How does rest support us to cultivate compassionate resilience in the face of life’s demands and stressors?
-
How can aligning with the earth during the winter season support rest?
-
What does it feel like to turn off our phones and rest from digital distraction?

This retreat is held in a spacious and cozy beach-front house with beautiful private rooms, lovely group spaces, a hot tub and includes healthy plant-based meals and snacks. This is a great retreat for solo travelers---come on your own and leave feeling connected. Or, come with a friend, partner, or co-worker and share the magic.
The schedule of this retreat will be both supportive and spacious. With the beautiful Pacific Ocean as our companion, we will facilitate rest practices such as gentle movement, individual and group reflection, guided meditation, and meaningful earth connection invitations.
We'll also offer a group reiki healing session, which is extremely relaxing and deeply nourishing.

And you will have ample open time to rest in the ways that feel good to you–soaks in the hot tub, walks on the beach, ocean gazing with tea, sleeping, creating art, reading a novel, sharing a good conversation.

Be deeply supported as you take time for yourself to truly rest. Re-discover your inherent connectedness to this beautiful world and to your own heart. You deserve to take time to remember what it feels like to slow down, be in your body, and to practice restful ways of being that you can carry with you long after the retreat. Learn how to rest so you can really thrive and continue to support others in your heart-centered work.
